Managing Energy Transfer and Bandwidth in Nonlinear Oscillators

Keynote Lectures 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM (Europe/Amsterdam) 2024/07/22 09:30:00 UTC - 2024/07/22 10:30:00 UTC
We provide an overview of a passive energy management approach for nonlinear oscillators, and briefly discuss applications on vibration and shock mitigation, blast and seismic protection, nonreciprocal acoustics, and other topics. Then, based on an extended definition of the concept of bandwidth, we show how targeted energy transfers between nonlinear harmonics in the responses of nonlinear oscillators can passively tune their bandwidth, and even break the classical time-bandwidth limit in passive resonators.
